Hi Guys

Not sure if I am allowed to do this or not but:

If anyone needs a Diver for boat cleaning & maintence in any of the south & cowes marinas send me a PM or give me a call on 07968 488559 Kelly.

Needless to say I am very competitive and HSE qualified Master Instructor.

Don\'t suppose you cover Greece?

No just joking!

Your post brings to mind a problem I had a few years back in Port Hamble.

For two seasons many of the berth holders use to use the services of a diver, ex RN who charged £2/ft for hull cleaning. Not only was this cheaper and more convenient than a lift-out but he didn't blast three quarters of your antifouling off when he did it like a pressure washer would.

Then the powers that be at MDL decided that this facility had to be banned (on safety grounds they said but the guy gave you a note which said that he took his own risks and he always had a colleague in attendance)

They signed up with a company called Andark who, should you want to make the investment, wanted to bring a dive barge, two divers and a divemaster on site at a cost then of over £300 travelling expenses (probably at least £500 by now) so that killed it. Our very capable diver continued for a while by us making a rendezvous with him at the town quay but to have someone call at the boat vas very convenient indeed. Sad that the regulators and the liability culture squashed it.

Its only a matter of time.

Handy to know, at the rate I seem to be breaking props and wrapping things round them its only a matter of time b4 I need a diver again.

Mental note made.

Re: Its only a matter of time.

"Sod the Healey ..." etc

So you've substituted the risk of getting skewered in a crunch by a long unbroken steering column starting just in front of your chest and ending just behind the front bumper for endless & repetitive oil leaks from the XK lump!

Progress! (Of a sort!)

Re: Don\'t suppose you cover Greece?

The regulators haven't quashed it as long as the person is HSE qualified, insured and has a safety diver/person in attendance.

It sounds to me that your marina was on a back hander from Andark.

You know, some of my fellow berth holders had the same suspicious mind as you!!!!

Are you any good with lawns and general gardening? Since I prefer sailing, my garden needs a good seeing to. What are your rates for gardening?
If you feel that is beneath you, the pond needs a good going over as well, and I would have thought that your diving expertise would be useful there, as well.
