Hi All,
I have a Nanni 3.75HE Diesel Marine Engine on my Westerly Centaur.
While checking my oil before setting out for last sail in October I discovered that the dipstick was out of its inlet hole. When I tried to take it out completely I could not remove it - even with very strong hand pressure. The dip stick felt it was distorted in the sump end and could only be raised about 3cm out of the entry hole before getting stuck. Even twisting the dipstick 360º didn't help.
Can anyone suggest a reason why the dip stick would have popped out?
And why the dipstick got so distorted?
And suggestions on how to deal with the problem?
