Distance/Time between locks

In a fit of enthusiasm for my coming trip upriver I decided to create a spreadsheet showing distances and times (at 8kph) between locks from Teddington to Osney.

I have made this available on the TMBA website - its a link in the AAA Information list in the right hand column - but you can also access the pdf here:

There are two pages - upstream and downstream - and its intended for laminating so that it can be kept by the helm.

I think the figures are correct (I took the raw data from the EA website) but if anyone cares to check and let me know if they find errors please let me know.

(You don't have to be a member of the TMBA to make use of it but, if you're not, you should be!)

I'm sure you are well able to interpolate as required - and if you are so p*ss*d you can't you are probably in the pub already !

The one in the Visit Thames book handed out at locks also has a load of info about bridge heights.

Its also much easier with mine to see the cumulative steaming time and number of locks for any particular run up or down river. The EA one only provides downstream information.

I put something up on my website a while ago for cruise timings. I also added a lookup to the EA website to get the river conditions.

Tony normally stops at Henley,however once he has got himself afloat again he will carry on the his original destination.

Having left Cookham I made rather good progress shall we say... however imagine my surprise and horror when the very same lock keeper met me at Boulters and could not understand how I go there before him as he had driven.

No, they are correct. The timings run top to bottom for the downstream page and bottom to top for the upstream page.
