The Bosch fuel pump couldn't cope with the carp in the tank and this led to having to replace the tank and pump.

You had carp in the tank! Quite a lot of water contamination then!

Seriously(ish) I find that a chain saw is an essential accessory for any red blooded male. They are remarkably tolerant when it comes to fuel, and if they do object to the quality you can just put them down and use a bow saw instead. No need to franticly reach for the oars to get to the beach.

Agreed but I suspect it depends on how you define immediate. so with a typical small Ob tank of maybe 1.5l would you consider a 5l can to top up and retain a small reserve as immediate?
