Display of AIS in SIMRAD chartplotters

Does anyone knows if the SIMRAD CP50 chartplotter can accept the NMEA 0183 V3.0 sentence format that includes the possibility of displaying AIS messages (they use the VDM sentence).
If that capability is available could you please inform which is the CP50 SW version number applicable?

I don't know the answer myself, but if you email Geoff Sargent [geoff.sargent@simrad.com] he may know or at least be able to find out for you. He is the after sales service manager (or was last time I contacted him!)

None of the Simrad Chartplotters will show AIS targets, until you get up to the very expensive commercial plotters, definitely not the CP50.

Simrad still has not realised that AIS is not only for professional mariners.... their pleasure boat products do not have any support for AIS....
