Hi, my rev counter's up the spout but I can't find a way of getting inside the thing to see if it's something simple like a stuck needle that need freeing up... it has 12v supplied to it but the needle doesn't kick to zero when the ignition it turned on.

Has anyone tried a diy fix themselves? It looks like the bezel needs to be removed but I can't work out how to without cracking the casing.

many thanks Gary

Mine was too when I got my Ocean, needle stuck halfway round. I adopted a cautious and gentle approach, taking it out of the dash, starting and revving engine, and banging the thing on its edge on the dash and shaking it. This delicate treatment shook it back to life and five years later it works perfectly.

Probably stuck as perhaps been sitting damp for a while?

thanks guys.. don't think it's the alternator or pickup lead as it should kick to zero with 12v and a quick check with a DVM shows it has a supply of 12v to the gauge.. need one with a black bezel for an inboard thanks all the same TinKicker.

Going to remove it and hit it with something a'la Clive's method ;-)
