Someone once posted here a great little website called Ports of Britain and I have visited this site a couple of times. On this occasion, I decided to sign and read the visitors book. It reads like a Toxteth subway or a disused railway tunnel (in the UK that is). For all intents and puposes the whole thing, bar a couple of sensible inputs, is adverts for porn or viagra, or other drugs and vices including all sorts of gambling etc. It just seems completely "graffity-ised".

It does state that all HTML tags will be removed but that doesn't stop the URL's being published. A couple of questions arise from this:
1) What do these innane ass-holes hope to achieve? and
2) Why doesn't the webmaster just scrub them out?

It was like visiting one of your favourite ports or harbours to find that low-lifes had trashed it with litter, used it as a public toilet and were dealing drugs openly along the quay-side.

Or am I just being picky?

Looks like the web master (ahem, term applied loosly here) is out to lunch /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif - yes he should remove them. The entrys look like they are entered by 'bots' which know how the guest book works for no other reason than to increase their search engine ratings.

I just went there and see what you mean
I e-mailed Duncan Mackintosh to alert him at the link on the bottom left .
Perhaps you should do the same (unless you already have)

That someone was me!... and based upon the initial response from you guys, I pointed Duncan Mackintosh to the thread that discussed updates/errors, which he promptly sorted out... And I am sure that he will do the same with this when he hears about it from LakeSailor...

John - I agree with you. If Glasgow can be a city of culture (and I did enjoy a Christmas visit there) then Liverpool will be an easy rival.

The good thing about Liverpool is that it has never taken anything from any government except derision. And it has survived and made its way in this world on its own.

You made an error when posting your platitudes.

All the other posts say the same sort of, "great site", I learned a lot from visiting this site", "What a beautiful site Thank you for putting it together", "Nice site man! Good resources here. Nice site. Keep it up!", but yours was the only one that didn't end the praise with the link to a poker/viagra/casino/mortgage/sports/blog site.

Surely you could have thought of something to advertise! ybw.com would have done.

Hope you don't find your e-mail address is targetted by these offers,, now you have added it to the throng.
