Nice man at the marina decided he'd pull the diesel hose across our bows and mid-ships and marked the GRP with black rubber. Tried some AutoGlym polish but didn't take it off as normal/

Anyone got any ideas to remove this muck, or do I try and get a free valet from the Marina?

Get one of those green washing up thingies. SWMB will sort it out for you, a few pence a piece. Thet shift most anything and with out scratching, also saves a fortune. If that dont work on it's own theres some stuff in a squerty plastic bottle thats exelent but cant think of the name. Anyway get some of the green plasticy scrubbing thingies first then some jiff or what ever.

Bane of my life as I have to fill both sides and always get dirtied up by the hose. I don't find it too hard to remove, just a little elbow grease and some stove cleaner cream.

Plastic garden furniture cleaner is excellent, I use it to clean Yanmar powered boats that have exhaust stains on the transom, or the best is a product made by Durabuild, its a compound/polish. You can buy it from most trade suppliers, Harry Odey being the one I use in the Southampton area.

No yer dont yer get yer gardener to do it.

Thats why I don't find it hard to remove, I always get someone else to do it... tho' I do pay for the 'JIF'

Free valet, definately.
When the power station was doing some work to the big tower by La collette marina, jersey, there was loadsa dust getting onto boats and if requested, you could get a free clean. Belter!!!

If you want to do it yourself (or do it properly after the valet is done) try SILKY
a pale cream in a tub from caravan shops. It works v well, no hard rubbing just use a new area of cloth and do one small bit at a time.
