The wiring diagram for my boat shows diodes to isolate the control panel warning lights from each other. At some stage in the boat's history, these have been removed so that, for example, if the engine was to overheat, or suffer a loss of oil pressure, both warning lights would come on (this has happened on overheating when the impeller failed).
Where can I buy such diodes?

1N4001 silicon rectifier diodes from Maplin should do the trick.

The cathode is the marked end BTW.

But you only actually asked where to buy them!

Not very good with electrics but I wonder- Are the diodes marked on the diagram actually the warning lights themselves and are Light Emitting Diodes?

They are on our boat.

My Yanmar panel has separate diodes and lightbulbs in it.
