Dingy nav light

Does anyone have suggestions for a white navigation light for a dingy? Battery powered LED and mounted on a pole. I would like something that can be clamped onto the transom this would allow it to be removed. There are one or two types out there but fairly expensive for what they are.

We have one with a rubber sucker at the base that sticks to the outboard cover.

One dark night I was attempting to stick it on-with no success. I eventually stuck it, all OK.

Looked at the outboard next day-it had a breather hole right where I first tried to fix it!

It takes 2xD cells and is a useful bit of kit if delayed at the pub.....................

Not strictly compliant but I use a LED head torch and have a bit of reflective tape on the bow of the dinghy.

I use a lifebuoy light fixed to the dingy with some velcro.

Thanks Vic. The original title had me thinking of cleaning lenses and/or brighter bulbs.

I use a torch. Not much else you can do in a small inflatable. Something mounted to low may be blocked from view by those in the dinghy.

Lifejacket light on a stick.

Flashlight show if required. Perhaps Head light on head.
Mine is a pretty small roll up with oars.

Almost certainly not mca approved, but better than nothing. I have these on my wake board tower in addition. Excellent wee things. First ones I came to just currently, but can get them for pennies from abroad sellers, if you can wait.

I used to hold an all round white light above my head.

Tried all round light on a stalk and found it ruined night vision. Hand held torch far better.

Not strictly compliant but I use a LED head torch and have a bit of reflective tape on the bow of the dinghy.

Under 7m and 7kt all you have to do is show a white light in good time to prevent a collisions, so a decent LED head torch should be fine.

Perfect I had not thought about mounting a light on top of the outboard. Job done thanks.
