Dont know if anyone else has seen this, but the bottom of my wetline has got large PINK patches all over it.
It is usually out of the water on the back of the boat, but over the last 3 weeks I have left it tied to the pontoon in the water. Took it out on Saturday to empty the rain water and discovered it. Thought initally it was some sort of weed and scrubbed it, but it had no effect!! Could it be some sort of pollution? Havnt a clue!!
Any advice on painting it? Will look really bad when i put it back on the boat.

PS before any smart a**** comment, No its not in touch with its feminine side!!

Vinyl goes pink if it has extended contact with sun tan lotion, which is a petrochemical derivative, so your pollution theory is probably correct.

Magic Sponge (Buy from famous auction site)

Removes just about anything from ANY vinyl or any other surface.

I use them for everything these days and dont need any other cleaning materials apart from a good marine polish.

Thanks Nick ! You have solved a problem which had me completely baffled. We had large pink patches on the seats and backrests of our RIB and no amount of scrubbing with special vinyl cleaner or the 'magic' white sponge would remove it. They gradually faded but never completely disappeared.
