Just joined the forum to get some expert advice.
Have been a dinghy sailor for past 8 years and now want to move up to a trailer/sailor and just looking round for a boat. Any advise welcome
Looking for around 20-23ft budget £12-13,000 so used. For day sailing and weekending - 2/3 nights 2 people. Plan to keep inland for first season to get to grips with the boat then put it on the coast season 2. Anticipate moving only once a season at most but still want something relatively easy to launch, rig and recover. Will be towing with Volvo V70 2.5 (215bhp) (not 4x4)
Have been looking at Sportina New Classic 700 which is a bit longer at 24ft and heavier at 1250kg displacement. Write up in Yatching Monthly says you would need a 4x4 to tow this however Volvo handbook says up to 1500 kg. Anyone got any thoughts or experience re this.
