Morning.I help run the cadet week at our local yacht club.- Essex Yacht Club on the Thames estuary. Last year we hired the RYA East Region fleet of 6 Toppers for those without access to their own boat. However this year the fleet are booked out for the dates that we want (31st July to 4th August). Do any of the forumites know of any other bodies from which we could hire a few dinghies for those dates? Our event has grown to well over 100 children of various ages, so demand increases, and it would be a shame if those without boats are not able to join in the organised chaos on the water. Thanks

Have tried-NLSA -they only have Wayfarers which are a bit big for what we want- please keep the suggestions coming.
Thanks

I would agree with Morgana about schools..... but why don't you try contacting some of the local schools (especially Public/Private Schools) who have their own school sailing clubs and own their own boats...... as the dates are during the school holidays, the boats will be sitting around idle anyway.

Just go through schools in yellow pages and ring them starting with the private/public schools in the area who might be more likely to have their own boats?

Your problem is that the World Scout Jamboree are taking 4000 kids sailing on Alton water in Suffolk from 29th July to 6th August and have acquired everything that floats for them to play with.

Bradwell Outdoor centre -think they are called might be able to help. If you can transport boats the Enfield Scout Sailing (ESSA) might be able to help you. Marian Caslake is the person to talk to their and she also has access to boats at a Brightlingsea centre
