hi all
with lady anna now home where we want her and the with usage we have seen
now its limitations are more visible

that compounded with the fact of me having played with my friends 55 predator with arnesons(44knot....47 if the bast@rd didnt skimp on the engines) ...makes lady anna feel a bit granny like

after not much pursuasion anna(the wife ...and see what naming a boat after yr wife can do) has agreed to double our budget for the next boat

so the dilemma now is

1. do i get a a second boat in the form of a 55 ft predator? and keep the manhattan

or
2. i swap lady anna and go for the 70 predator being lauched at london jan'05

this has once again resulted in sleepless nights and only boat related thoughts throughout the day

i personally would like the 70 predator but the flybridge can be a good place to be at sunsrise or sunset ....that we would miss

we dont sleep much on the boat so accomodation is not very important except when it comes to selling it

would love to hear yr thoughts on this
best to all as always

ps. Goa is popular dest for the british tourist ...if any forumites headed this way do give me a shout
will pm contact details

If you have 2 surely you will only ever go out on the best one (the biggest?) and the cheap and nasty (small one?) will never get used, am I right?

sometimes its just easier to have a blast in a smaller one, i'd go for the biggest flybridge poss and then a super quick rib or cigarette thingee

the 95 start at 3.2 mill and go on to abt 3.9 with arnesons
so thats a bit out of me budget at the mo
the thought of one being neglected has crossed my mind but they are essentially of similar size ...just they behave very differently

phil
its not 2 or four ...its two very diff boats each with its advantages and drawbacks
as i have said i am quite sold on the 70 with arnesons and big ass engines twin 1500

I'm sure you can get a nice discount on the 95, besides you are the younger of the Moose herd on the forum so you will listen to your elder and buy one/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

High Class Problem

I had thought of sugesting other brands, tho probably not relevant.

I would say that really and truly, two boats so very similar are not at all better than one. Mainly because all your stuff will tend to be on one boat instead of the other. I mean, you'll favour one of them cos its newer or cos it's got most of the CD's on it - so why would you go out on the #2 boat, ever? We had three cars between two drivers for a while, and the "third" car just rotted away. So, imho, chop it in and have just one boat, imho.

This wd be different if one boat was a loony honda race boat, yank powerboat (hm?) , or a race sailing sailing boat, and the other a sunseeker thing. But having two lounge lizardy boats, neither of which does anything *really different* from tother - you may as well have just the one. Incidentally, you can have better parties on sports crusier boats imho, cos no up/down the stairs to flybridge.

Hmmm. I definitely think get one boat (the 70). TCM says sports cruiser good for parties, he's right but 70 foot much better than 55 on that score.

The 108 hull #1 was on the Sunseeker quay in Golfe Juan in middle August. Got a close look as we were on the next berth for an afternoon. Beautiful machine - i loved the fordeck gizmo where you walk thru those gaps in the superstrcuture isdes to get to the table and sunbeds

Let us know when you're going to be at LBS

Anyway bigmoose, you have experience with this one-or-two problem. Didn't the same tricky issue come up with ferraris? :-))

Re: irrelevant ferrari

ah but, you can't just chop in a ferrari 360 and a 575 for a erm ferrari935 or even biggerer, so multiple ferraris is very reasonable, sort of.

The main prob is that his mate has a faster boat. To sort this out, I wd clean it up, get bigger engines, tell lies, or indeed take readings whilst going with the tide thru the Alderney Race er oops damn...

Alderney race speed slur!

ROTFL. Right, you are coming out on the squady straight after it has had the bottom antifouled, next May or summink. I will show you 34 on the guages even if i have to paddle :-)

I think I understand the frarri thing. Say you have a 360 then fancy an upgrade, so you go to the dealer and ask for a 720, they say nocando, so you say ok then I'll have another 360 cos that's sort of the same, kind of?

One thing it mite be worth you thinking about as your boats get bigger so the choose of marinas that can take you gets smaller, what ever you choose enjoy it.

I wouldn't worry about that powerskipper. The boat's in Goa remeber. Any marinas round there will be being built by Bigmoose anyways :-)
