you can now buy a digital decoder box for a one off price of £99 which will give you 15 channels "free to air " BBC channels mainly, without signing up to sky etc. So no more bills or dish required. Perfect picture quality through existing aerial, and is very small the size of a of a mouse mat. Works well on boats! For those long winter evenings & F8 + winds.
 
Mark would you be so kind to send a list of the channels you get free as I only have the cheapest sky package, it may be worth getting a box and disontinuing my subscription with sky then, cheers.. Paul.
 
The set top boxes are not available until end of March there will be the five main channels plus BBC digital channels . I'm not sure of the others , but they will be available in Comet etc. so they may know.
 
Surely if you discontinue with Sky, you can pick up the same channels (more or less) for free! Isn't that the whole point of getting a free mini dish and receiver, so that after 1 year it's yours? Save yourself £99.
 
My interest is that you can have a good picture on boat without having a satellite dish, and is very small with a one off payment. At the moment i don't get perfect reception .
