Have just tried the sample editions. Unfortunately you seem to only get one click at zooming in. For my eyes I need another click. I was hoping to use this service to stop the pile of dead trees in the lounge, but I cant read it on my laptop easily. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Hmmm, not exacly a bargain either considering the savings the publisher makes in production and distribution costs.

Mouse wheel scolls ok on Thinkpad under Firefox (or what passes for mouse wheel on a Thinkpad). I think the problem is that Flash player takes a bit of getting used to. Wouldn't want to drop the laptop in the bath though.

Certainly would not *pay* for it. Would be nice to get a digital subsription for free with a paper subscription though. Like Economist and Wall Stree Journal. May make me get a paper subs, which I do not have now.

Oh! I dunno, the picture of Lakesailor at the wheel looks very tasty on the YM sample - and she's easy to handle too. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

They're hardly like to do that, they'll be wanting this digital stuff to pay for itself with a reduced printing bill.

What a surprisingly POOR manifestation. There seem to be only two sizes, either too small or too large for my browser (1600x1200 screen). This seems to be just a digitized version of the mag. The way it should be done, presuming that they are using all the modern technology for production (they have to be, they are IPC), is to have a separate production for the web. It should check the size of the screen on which it is being reproduced, and adapt accordingly, such methods are not star wars tech or programming... I cannot see this taking off, except perhaps for ex-pats... oops, I am an ex-pat, and it doesnt appeal to me...... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

FYI the samples available now are unfortunately not as good as the final digi versions will be. In particular, you will have a great deal more flexibility with the zoom function so hopefully there will not be a problem viewing online.

Ah - it will - just not necessarily in the currently presented form.
