Digital laser thermometer

I bought one of these a few months ago. Not the commonest, which I had previously lent and because apparently it didn't work the borrower did not bother to return it, - this one seems OK.

Mind you this one won't be being lent, sorry.

But but utu, thats a tachometer, not a thermometer.....

Anyroad up, if you examine the function/display/options for each, they are all the same guts, just different box (often, not even that)

I have two Benetech GM900. I bought these from Mr Amazon for about 30 quid each but I cant find them listed anymore.

One for the wood fired oven and one for the boat.

This model gives a range from -50 c to + 900c.

Think carefully about the temperature range and application you want first, I would have thought for an exhaust on a boat you need a minimum of 700c?

As above, they're much of a muchness, I've bought two now for around £12.00 and work perfectly well.
I doubt they're as accurate as they claim, but perfectly good enough to give comparison temperatures.
My exhaust temps haven't ridden above 45degC yet (post water injection, obviously)

The laser dot is also far superior to those laser pointer toys you get, hours of fun for an enthusiastic dog...

The Laser bit is purely to show what you are pointing at, I assume the sensor is Infra Red.

When I turn it on if the dog is in earshot she will come looking to chase the red dot.
