Quite a difference Jez. The D4 is about 660 KGs and the D3 in 300 and something. The D4 is a 4 pot 3.6 ltr and the D3 is a 5 pot 2.4 ltr /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
tother point to note from ours, the 39 with D4 260's is only couple of knots down on the same with D6 310's but obviously bit cheaper on the fuel, downside is after a season with all your kit on board and a bit of a mucky bum there is about five knts in the difference with both loaded and similar state bottoms. D6's have that bit more oooomph top end when loaded but do make quite a difference to trim, anything under 25 knts and you need a healthy dose of flap whereas the twin D4 version runs quite level at 25 knts. Makes no difference on the 41 or 45 but the 39 as I would imagine any sub forty footer with D6's is quite ass heavy.
D4's good motor though really revy and quite punchy
