Equally to the point, why are UK fees two to three times more expensive than Northern France?

Many marinas on the other side of La Manche are run by the local authorities as are their local airfields .
This side of the channel, hedge funds need to provide a good return to investors on vast sums of borrowed money ?

Unlike UK South Coast, North France coast is distant from most large centres of population and wealth; plus
France overall much lower population density (UK 2.4 times France); plus
France more pro-development generally.
