Difference between Raymarine Autopilots?

Not that this helps you but.

I needed a new autohelm and phoned Raymarine. My boat weighs 7500kg so I assumed a type 1 drive that is good for 11000kg.
They said I needed the type 2.
I asked why when even by their calculations (boat weight +20%) it only comes to 9000kg leaving me over 20% in reserve?
To which they answered you need the type two...

Did anyone have any luck with this debacle of raymarine charging so much money for larger power takeoff for the pump.

Hi, Have anyone tested this now, when we have got 10 years older? Is output the only-thing that varies in Acu-100 to Acu400. And a solidstate relay should work as protecting it to burn it's mosfets.
