Got a Mercruiser VM 4.2l diesel hooked to a Bravo leg, both 2007, but I can't tell whether it's a Bravo 1 or Bravo 2.

Are there any significant differences, observable visually? Previous owner doesn't know as the dealers did everything for him. Dealers I can't get hold of, for the moment.

As far as I know the bravo 2 leg was a bigger, more solid affair usually fitted to big v8's and diesels where the bravo 1 was more commonly fitted to 3.0 and 4.3 petrols (unless an Alpha was fitted).

Sadly without the two next to each other I am not sure I'd know the difference - do you have a photo?

Actually upon reading I am wrong - the Bravo 2 was for heaver larger boats with a lower design speed - 20-30knts whereas the Bravo 1 was Mercury Racing and was for much faster boats - 40+ knots
