Having used Morris Oils and them having an excellent name,I went on their web site and see that they supply a diesel treatment called Morrendo DD.It cost about £31 for 5 lts which is far cheaper than Startron.Has anyone used it?

I agree it doesnt mention contains biocide, but it does say "Retards any tendency of the fuel to oxidise in storage and form harmful sludges. It also prevents corrosion and rust in storage tanks and pipelines reducing possibility of filters blocking." It also says that it provides lubricity when using low sulphur fuels. It does mention that if there are sludges present increase the first dosage.

I think that you are reading more into the word 'oxidise' than is meant. It really is not formulated to kill diesel bugs in the same way that Grotamar and Startron, and other products are.

Threats to diesel today is Diesel bug plus bio diesel in circuit which is less stable over the long term storage which means 5 star gourmet dinner for our friends diesel bug.

Get a proprietary biocide such as Grotamr 82 which is formulated for deisel and biodiesel one litre about £30 treats 4000 litres should last a while.

Drain water from tanks and check pre filers on a regulat basis.

Job done.
