That's much clearer then. How many hirers will pay the duty on their hirer's fuel then? In fact, how many will actually declare anything?

But the crucial question, which that doc is silent on, is whether you can divide the Marked fuel purchase between the nav element and the genset/heating etc element.

If you buy Marked diesel and fill in the end of year return, you're required to state the qty "used for ... nav". That will be less than 100% of what you bought, if you have genset, heating, batt charging, etc. What would be really useful would be if Irish Revenue published a typical guideline, like the UK's 60/40

Later, when fuel stockists only stock road diesel and don't stock Marked, what are you supposed to do about your non-nav element of fuel use? The docs are silent on that too.

Yup, i'm confused on that too.. and it affects me!
