Hi
Can somebody advise me of the correct order for the fitting of these pipes?
I'm making a new connection into a plastic tank for a Webasto heater and the dip pipe has a fixed rectangular flange, a large steel washer and a rubber washer.
I originally thought that the washer should go inside the tank but now think that's wrong.

It's so blooming obvious to most people that the Webasto instructions don't bother to say, but not obvious to me!

Assuming it's the standard Webo dip tube then Graham is correct, you need a 25mm hole in the tank. However poly tanks are a nightmare to get that type of tube sealed properly as they flex, I have had to resort to getting a boss hot air welded on and use an Eber low profile dip tube in the past but have recently had success with these http://www.aquafax.co.uk/html/product_details.asp?ID=23439 and a reducing bush.

Edit to add that the Webasto instructions are very clear on fitting the dip tube, to the extent of diagrams even, in the marine kits anyway.

Thanks, for replies, now sussed,
David
In my defence, it's now obvious once I've done it, but the instructions are very brief.

• Plastic tanks: install the fuel standpipe in the tank fitting.
Do not drill into a plastic tank.

I couldn't install into the tank fitting, there isn't enough space. so I've drilled int the tank. The diagram is specifically for metal tanks.
Anyway it's done now. An example of novices being able to misunderstand the simplest instructions.:shame:
