I have a nasty case of dieselbug/sludge/ in both fuel tanks. last refuelled in Le Havre but I guess it could have been lurking down there any way. More satisfying to blame somebody else though.
Anyway having cleaned up pre filters and changed secondary fuel filters I don't want a recurring problem so I need to drain my tanks, but not keen on ditching many gallons of expensive French diesel. I remember reading somewhere about an outfit who bring a specialised portable filtering oufit alongside you and pump out the diesel, filter and return it to your tank ready to use. Can anybody put me in touch with said outfit - I'm in Poole and would appreciate it if anybody knows who they are.

how much diesel have you go in the tanks, if you could decant into white 5 gal drums you could just let it settle and draw off the clear fuel, diesel bugs are airborne they only grow when you have a water bottom , keeping it at bay is matter of housekeeping keeping the fuel dry.

I had the same problem. I borrowed 3 plastic 50 gallon drums from a farmer friend (chemical supplies I think), they are nice and light and easy to lug about. Pump into them, then clean tank before refilling. I had to shovel the goo out!!
