I have it on good authority that Trading Standards are sniffing around, at least in the Solent Waterpark area, asking questions about diesel pricing.
They do the standard weights and measures stuff, but also check that we boaties are not getting ripped off on the 60/40 calculation. As the marinas are still publishing their pre-Nov08 prices then adding tax on afterwards, their is plenty of scope for confusion.
It would seem sensible to publish the price based on 60/40 additinal tax, so a 60p litre would be more like 90p, as this is the most common purchase now. Those who declare 100% propulsion/0% domestic would have the price adjusted up, and vice versa.
I am sure this would be much simpler ..... wouldn't it?
