Hello all, advise needed re title. Small 14 hp Nanni diesel , anybody used any very cost effective noise insulation panels/materials ? Heat proof? fire resistant? its a noisy little devil.............Ta adam
It is worth it to pay good money for good materials.
Did it as part of a project for a customer.
The official stuff is heavy flexible (possibly closed cell) foam, and shoeld for the best result include a layer of lead bitumen.
Make sure that when applying to close all air gaps, and make sure there is an air vent for the engine...
If you want to go "value" try Celotex building insulation sheets with the foil outer. 100mm will do the job and costs peanuts. It is fire rated. It's cheap enough to try and throw away if your not happy. Available all good builders merchants.
