Do you put biocide in your car?

Do you leave fuel in your car for months or years? Mine generally gets a new tank full of diesel every week, though rather less than that since March.

I do use an additive in my petrol-powered classics when I lay them up for the winter on the recommendation of an engineering colleague who generally knows about such things?

I am not sure if that is a good idea. I have read that can cause issues but i cant remember where.

Just to be clear: I don't use the two additives at the same time, just generous doses of one of the other. Both say that overdosing is harmless.

Other than reasonable care, I have never ever used any type of treatment for my diesel, but my twin tanks are properly equipped with dirt sumps and drain cocks.

Ok maybe it depends on the type i suppose. Being a yachty I dont use it too much.
