Diesel 90p a Litre on the Hamble !?!?!?!

With all the recent talk of cheaper diesel prices, I was dismayed to find that after a mornings boating in the Solent, the visit to the fuel pontoon was as shocking as the air was cold. Even with the 60/40 split, the price was 90p per litre - my local Esso only charges 94p for ADO,- whats going on????

Been told the price will drop on Hamble when they get new stock.
They set the price on what they pay for it.

I paid 80.9p a couple of days back at Swanwick and that was with the berth holders discount.

Same at Northney a couple of weeks back - 90ppl on 60/40 before discounts.

But it has dropped to about 38p from the Tanker in Guernsey though.

hey thats very good. Jersey has been about 74p. But ive been told its difficult to get the tanker fuel alongside. is that true?

I dont know how it works in Jersey but tanker in Guernsey about 38p and Boatworks + about 55p.

Topped up the tank at Chichester marina last Friday @ .80p per litre. They said it will probably go down after next delivery.

It's a £ / lt in Ipswich area. complete con. What I have learnt over this last week was; I was asked to complete a form including my percentage. I decided to go 60/40 the other way. 60% heating. 40% running. I will keep you posted if I get any come back. This time of year it could be higher.
Also I can't say where but some dealers are up for a deal. Well they do have spillage.

You could well be right. I filled both my tanks in November. The tank that also runs the heating, is now half full. The one which just runs one engine, is still nearly full.

So heating is far more than engine use, so far.

Good for you!

Rumours have it that some dealers will only accept the "Revenue friendly" suggested split, and this must be stamped out. You are entitled to claim what ever mix you honestly feel is appropriate.

However on The Awful Day of Judgement, you may be required to justify that split.
Not to difficult; just put together a convincing argument.

It's not up to the dealer - it's up to you...
