Diction on sailing films

youtube now offers captions which it generates itself using its wonderful algorhythms which make some pretty weird mistakes

I clicked the button on my egg banjo film

and it starts off pretty well - but then it falls apart some-what

people in other countries can get it to translate it into Russian or French or whatever

I still haven't listened to Dylan. But I watch TV with subtitles showing. At least one weather forecaster mentions "ice on untreated surfaces" but is not good at "f" sounds and seems to me to say "services". The subtitler thinks so too!

More OT, my favourite was a science programme with boyishly handsome Jem Stansfield. I think the subtitler may have fancied him, leading to a Freudian slip. He went to a blackboard to do a "quick computation" but subtitles said "copulation". I have the proof on file!
