Funny thing Searush, in the early Eighties the mussel industry, now huge in the Strait, was not so relevant or developed.
But still the Residents that look across the Bay were against the Plans.
Dozy beggars!
It was the now owners of the sight and Mr P Dickie that wanted to go ahead in those days!
Tiss a natural place for a Marina
As opposed to tother one (still not dead yet I believe) across at Gallows point!
Ho Hum!
There are plans however
Which Will go ahead (some work already started)
For the development of Beaumaris pier
Back to it's origional width, plus some kinda pontoon facility at the Pier.
Also, there are going to be improvements at Menai Pier for more berthing facilities.
30 years ago, I was involved in the renovation of Bangor pier.
The Pier is now operational
It was knackered and dangerous for ages
I tried my best when I had a Business in Rhyl (my home town) to save the Pier there
I failed!
Llandudno pier is vibrant and a treat to visit
Colwyn Bay's is not!
These Victorian works of art are Special.
So at least there is some good news ref Beaumaris and Menai.
