Diamond Jubilee Flotilla Rehearsal

I'm booked, so awaiting further instructions, apparently 4 weeks for Q+A's, then end of December for confirmation.

200 private vessels are being allowed, and they expect to be over subscribed, certainly when we filled out the booking form on 2nd June, when it opened, we were already number 22!

There appears to be a reasonably strict set of criteria with reference to the Boat, Crew, Decorations if any and pre booked Moorings.

I'm hoping :D

Fenders up?

"Fenders Up, White Peaked Caps on, check!" - Apollo.

I think fenders "off" and not up!!!
Most certainly whites!
Have you no standards, man?!!!!

Having a chat with SWMBO this week about the bits for the "why should we pick your boat" and "how will you ne decorated".

Prebooking a mooring is fine if you have a place, otherwsie may be an irritant. I had thought of just going back again but accept it could be a good party night if we all went for the same marina. Where have folk gone for?

This notice gives advance notification of a flotilla of 20 to 30 private motor vessels navigating outward bound on the ebbing tide on Sunday 26th June 2011. This rehearsal will enable the PLA and Association of Thames Yacht Clubs to assess the feasibility of maintaining the 4 knot speed requirement and moving in a flotilla formation

Any of our elite brethren on the forum among the chosen few?

Peoples Republic of Meadway.

"yeah, it says that right next to "and no riff raff from the Mudway"

aha ....obviously some mix up then that does not apply to those of us who yacht in our launches on the fragrant Meadway.

I heard at the last planning meeting that 1000 boats in total have now signed up on the website.

Who me fib ?

"Will be doing it tonight, when I have a reason why they should pick some old and a bit smokey boat owned by ordinary (or ornery!) folk and not a polished white superyot"

Just do what I did....make up most of it ,exaggerate a lot, tell downright fibs and tick ALL the boaty qualification boxes
See you there next year.:)
