Devon pre-purchase survey

Looking for any suggestions from those present for a good surveyor for a pre-purchase survey in Devon, particularly interested in someone who can give the engines (twin Volvo D260 with 1,300 hours), ancillaries and service history a good check over in addition to the usual structural survey. Thanks for any suggestions.... Mike

I think VolvoPaul is yer man for the engines/ancils. Not sure about the hull survey though.

Nick Vas comes highly recommended for the structural side.

We used a guy called Bill Dunlop of Marintec based in Lymington, when we last bought. I can highly, highly recommend him, hugely knowledgeable guy, incredibly detailed/accurate survey, nothing has come to light that wasn't picked up and everything suggested has proven to be. As mentioned above, I would think VolvoPaul is your best bet for all running gear/mechanical systems.

Try Simon Kidd, Southern Marine Surveys, Dartmouth based. Very thorough and has done our last 2 surveys very accurately. Very reasonably priced
and spends over half a day with boat with sea trial as well.

Volvo Paul recommended Nick Vas to me for my survey in Devon and I thought he was excellent, although he did n' t do the engine survey.
