Now you have me questioning my own sanity and memory. I will have to confirm when I whip mine out later in the month for a clean. :ambivalence:
Some results:
I mixed hydrochloric acid to ~10% and poured it in and ther was a distinctive hissing sound and clear signs of that this mixture was way better that oxalic acid.
I left in in until it calmed down (about 2,5 hours).
It has cleaned the worst scales and barnacles that was visible without videoprobe.
So the conclusion is that HCl @ 10% 20°C for 2-3 hours seems to be OK,
