Wake up in the morning to the magical inland sea that is Derg Sur Mer :)

What another great weekend enjoyed by so many on the water. Ideal weather for a night gently swinging on the hook as the western sky embers dimmely past midnight.

PS: Pal of mine is trapped in harbour in Corsica for past week due server depressions, high winds and record rain fall. Supposed to be sailing to Greece this week.

Great pics OF. If it makes you feel even better, I'm currently in Adriatic and it's colder than UK

Mike suppose the difference is in the exceptions: Ours being med like weather just for now, yours being British Isle like weather. But the norm should prevail in the long run. Heard from my pal last night, he made a run from Corsica to Sardinia (30kt of wind at times, storm sails and reefed to the gills), but now heading for a spot south of Naples before moving on down to toe of italy.

PS: Ongoing the Azores high is now well established up here, so BI weather should remain a huge improvment over the past 3 years as the Atlantic depressions just won't pick up as much energy, hence be weaker affairs. Downside is med is not as "permenantly" settled. You just can't win! :)

Few more pics of the wonderful heat wave way out west. One can't help wondering how long can this continue. Suppose we're entitled to a good one after the last three summers of winter!

After a lazy day drifting away the remaining hours on the giant lough, taking in the sun rays and sizzling heat, decision time - put into port or spend a night on the hook? No contest, it's too hot to steam up in a harbour or marina ;) Sling out the hook for one of the shortest nights of the year. No stars tonight, it's well too bright.

Pre-dawn as the world sleeps, misty evidence of the previous days heat evaporates from this magical mysterious lough, the inland sea that seems more like Derg Sur Mer

What a blessing and privilage to spend some time like this so far away from reality.

Great shots Noel, spotted OF as you were passing GarryK on Sunday evening, as we were headed north to Terryglass from Killaloe, Had a superb 5 nights onboard in just perfect conditions in the main. Long may it last. Thanks again for the pics, and also for the Galway series, I met your co traveller on his return to his home berth on Thursday and got some of the story first hand. It is certainly an appetite whetter if we get a sustained high this season.
Best wishes, Dave.

Hi Dave

Ah, I was wondering as we passed, I hadn't my distance glasses on. :) Few snaps of you guys below. You might have passed another 39 shortly afterwards heading down to Williamstown. It was pure magic alright.
