Why do you imagine that what you prefer is "the only way" or that everyone wants to do what you want to do? Each to his/her own. Be thankful that people who want to sit in what you see as "hot smelly places" aren't cluttering up the anchorages you like.
 
Well... that is not the answer to my question:why?
It is clear to me that we don't have the same preferences.
Maybe I would also like to tie up in such places but first I would like to know where is the thrill?

If you see no thrill in mooring in such places then don't, nobody ever said we all had to do the same thing. But people who choose different things from you are not necessarily stupid, they just make different choices.
