Good day,
I have a relatively old CETREK C-NET COMBI depth and speed instrument. The speed is fine but the depth sounder becomes arratic at depth greater than around 20 metres. It cycles between various values from 0 to the correct depth.
When in water less than 20 metres it is fine.
Any ideas?
I have checked the wiring and remade the transducer coax cable to interface unit connection ensuring no stray wires etc. The transducer is clean and has not been antifouled!
If I need a new transducer can anyone recomment a supplier? The current transducer is an Airmar and I think the model is a P17 part number 31-198-1 (200kHz model). This was a replacement at some point as I have separate installation instructions which are newer than the instrument user guide.
The Airmar website appears only to have details on the current model range and no old model replacement cross reference.
What other options do I have? Can I replace the 'interface' and transducer and just take the NMEA feed to the instrument. Which supplier...?
