Depth Monitor and Transponder

Launched yesterday and we have used a Nasa Marine Depth monitor and transponder mounted on the floor of the cabin in a Nasa Marine in boat kit.

Seem to be getting about 3m shy on the readings - Somewhere I know was about 5 meters yesterday was showing as 1.9 and so on.

Going to re read the instructions tonight and see if there is a calibration setting - the kit you get for the transponder is basically a tube you resin to the boat with oil you then pour in. The Transponder then sits just above the oil (thats what the diagram said)

Any ideas?

You can usually specify an offset value to take account of the boats draft, sounds like yours is set to about 3 m. The instruction manual should tell you how to change the value.

To add to Julian, it's not above the oil. It should be immersed in oil. i.e. no air gap at all.

thanks Bruce it may be sitting just above the oil (the diagram with it suggested as such) - Ill change so its completely in the oil
