Hi All,

I am looking to buy a depth finder for my Fletcher 19GTS. I have no idea where to begin - I hear there are some you can buy that you don't have to drill through the bottom of the boat? Do you stick them underneath and they transmit or something?

Also - can you get depth finders that do othe rthings too (fish finder/speedo etc..?) Perhaps worth getting something that doors more tricks?

Any help for the novice much appreciated!

Depth sounder has little practical use on the Thames, sometimes interesting but rarely usefull. Assuming you are going to use your Fletcher at sea as well though, I'd get one of those new Standard Horizon combined Chartplotter and sonar, not sure what sort of depth transducer they have but most look through the hull when fixed inside or can be bolted to the transom, i've got both!

Depth Finder for a Fletcher

I have a Fletcher 19GTSC fitted with an Eagle Cuda 350i GPS/Fishfinder. The transducer is fitted inside the hull (in the engine compartment) and works really well. It is stuck down with marine silicone sealant.
Have a look at the Eagle or Lowrance websites and you can download transducer mounting details.
