Hello. Right, to carry on where I left mid Sept. The boat is now back in the UK and I've done what you suggested in your post of 17 Sept ref jam jar. Very clean white diesel, looks like thin machine oil, not much colour (slight yellw tinge and no bits). Also had oil checked by lab and results have said no bug problems. Boat went back in today, although should have been Friday (see post below ref: inny or outty) so expect to be able to sea trial now.

Assuming no change Stb engine is down on acceleration at anything over 2000 rpm. Eventually does reach max speed and revs and tops out at 36 kts (on GPS). So something is working OK. Would suggest fuel starvation but I don't have a clue as to what to check next. Injectors, pump timing, turbo (sharp intake of breath and clenching of wallet) etc but will keep you informed as to findings. There was someone else suffering similar symptoms on the forum but can't remember who they were did they find cause anybody know?
Regards

Blocked fuel filters

That causeds a very similar problem for me, try changing them, could be an easy solution to the problem.

Re: Blocked fuel filters

Cheers. Unfortunately this was the second job I did. first was to check I still had a set of props on the aforementioned drive. Also have swopped fuel lift pumps no difference.

The plot thickens.

Can you post another list of what you have done so far to refresh all our memories please.

Thanks

Dom

I am boating again ;-)

Re: Blocked fuel filters

If it's nothing on the engine it could be....

Breather blocked on that tank? Try running with filler cap off.

Next job would be to remove tank standpipe and check gauze on the end is clear.

remove fuel lines and replace or check clear (you may have something floating round in there - I found a bit of blue plastic in last boats fuel line)

Re: Blocked fuel filters

Judging by your web site you get about abit. if your ever near Southsea (I don't think you'd get through the lock) I'll buy you a beer. Boats Dream Catcher.

Re: Blocked fuel filters

1. You could cross connect the fuel feed to the 2 engines

2. And have you checked the drive belts ? Had same problem with a VP single installation
