Dentist Nidri

There is a dental practice in Lefkas that has a very good reputation. A husband & wife practice, both speak v good English. The practice is in Lord Byron Street, I can get the phone number if you're interested. (I haven't used them myself but a few of the winter liveaboards used them for emergency treatment and more complicated stuff and spoke highly of them, reasonable prices as well compared to private treatment in the UK.)
 
I am sorry but , in Nidri I have had a very bad experience with high costs, lots of pain, unessential expensive x-rays and later proved misdiagnosis here. I would avoid like the plague.

It would seem, then, that the quality of dental care in Greece is variable, making personal recommendations all the more helpful. My own experience was with a new crown from a dentist in Preveza (regret can't recall the name) which was exceptional: painless, thorough and reasonably priced. The dentist had learned her craft in Belfast, so was probably a dab-hand with kneecaps, too.

I can only assume that this post was made as some form of joke and in very bad taste, my wife and I have lived here in Nidri for the past six years and during that time Mina has looked after our teeth in a professional competent manner, she has never caused us any pain or suggest unessential treatment such as x rays, her charges are in line with government guidelines ie 40 Euro per treatment.
I reiterate my recommendation of this first class dental practitioner ...

Thank you for the recommendation, walked in off the street today and were able to see her straight away. Very nice and very professional, hopefully it will be all sorted in a couple of days. Times like this you really appreciate just how good this forum can be
 
Apologies to Lefkasman ....

..... but my experience in Nidri was equally disasterous. Expensive (cash payment no receipt other than small unoffical one, unacceptable for a refund in the UK), painful and ineffective treatment. My crown was cemented back in the reverse position causing several sores which became infected. I still have a huge hole in the gum with 'cement' around the site of the 'ex' crown. three years later - and a missing tooth gap!

Ha Ha Ha loved it Cynthia, just for a second you had me going there, I actually thought that you were being serious, but no I get it, you have a great future working the stand up comedy clubs, could give Lisa Lampanelli a run for her money any day.

For info re costs, mina did do an xray (which my wife was hoping and expected her to do), the X ray cost 20 euros, about £15, would not class this as expensive!
We were also given an official receipt even though we will not be claiming it back as we have no insurance.
I wonder if there is more than one dentist in Nidri, because some of the descriptions of what people experienced has no relation to our expwerience.

She also treats my family here in Greece, my wife is Greek as is her son and they have been treated by Mina for years.

In short I can reccommend Mina whole heartedly.
