Anyone got any up to date info about what a 15m berth might cost on an annual basis in any of the Denia marinas.

I think there is one with a pool, but cant work out which one it is. The only price card I can find is Marina Del Denia which only lists per day and works out about €13k a year.

I seem to recall people suggesting denia was much lower than that

I've never been to Denia, but a quick squint at Google maps shows that Real Club Nautico has a pool.

I berthed in Denia for a season in 2004 and then the best marina there was Marina de Denia. Dont remember there being a pool there although it is a nice marina with plenty of shops and eating establishments. Tbh €13k pa sounds about right. Its a jumping off point for the Balearics and quite popular because of that.

The marina on the portside as you come in (Marina de Denia) has an outside pool. The one closest to town, Real Club Nautico de Denia, has an inside pool
About 2 years ago we were considering moving to Denia but we had to go around the marinas to get prices. Our boat is only 10 metres and a sailing yacht but it wasn't that cheap, seem to remember it worked out around 7.500 euros. The Club marina were doing a deal at the time for the first 12 months and it worked out at a very reasonable 4,500 euros
The other marina is El Portet de Denia
I would either email the marina or better still telephone them. For the club marina it is useful if you speak Spanish, you can get by in English but they seemed to appreciate it if you could converse in Spanish

Marina De Denia has a large pool on the roof of the marina building as can be seen from Google maps. As you say, there are plenty of restaurants / bars and the shower / laundry facilities are excellent. it's quite a long walk to the town but there's a supermarket within a fairly short walk. Security excellent too. We'll probably head up there for a few days in the summer.

I agree it is useful to have supermarket close so when the crew go shopping you don't have to make you own drinks for too long, which can become most distressing!

13k for the mainland for a 50 foot boat seems quite dear to me ...

The pool on the roof in Denia does not belong to the marina.
It is a club on its own.
In the past, we have used it but they expect you to buy drinks etc at their bar - and it is expensive.
The pool/club isn't always open.

Jez - it probably isn't a pool for the little people.

Indeed :)!

Looking at my price lists, €1k per month for a 50 footer seems to be the going rate for the nice marinas in the Costa Blanca (Altea, Greenwich, Denia) which I believe is a reflection of the attractive cruising area and the proximity to the airports. On the basis that the marinas seem to be pretty full they must be pricing it correctly considering the demand. I think Alicante itself might be cheaper.

If you go further south that Alicante then it definitely gets cheaper.

Looks very nice Mike. I got the distinct impression that temporary visitors could use the pool, but could of course be wrong.

It is definitely run as a club.
Situated on the roof over the marina reception.
We have been to Denia a few times and most of the time the pool has been closed.
For example we were in Denia for a couple of days in the first week of last October and it was closed then.
Only got in once a few years ago - when I took the pics.

I think if you were there permanently, you would probably join the club - no idea of prices though - it might be as costly as (for example) the club in Cala D'oR.

More pics of the marina from the rooftop pool.

Personally, I'm not sure of the cruising around that part of the mainland - seems to me to be mostly marina hopping.
If I were based in Denia, I would be looking to the islands for my cruising.

I agree that it's not a good coastline if you like to spend lots of days at anchor in secluded bays (as I know you do in the Islands). As you say, it's mainly marina hopping or lunchtime anchorages which suits us for short breaks.
