Can any one tell me how I can delete a posting .

Personally I found this forum really bad since the site been change , finding it slow and it's doing all sort of stuff , thinking of not bothering posting any more .

I agree
It's like opening a news feed, very slow with pop ups in the background.
Did it need fixing??

Delete ..... this is only forum where I cannot change mind after clicking 'quote' by mistake... or delete a post.

You delete content and close that thread ... but f you go back to thread later - your mistaken post is waiting for your with text all there etc. ....

So only way I can get out of it ... remove all text and then type in 'Deleted' .... save.

Judging by the odd 'deleted' single word posts dotted around - appears others have come to same solution.

If you click on the floppy disk (how quaint; when was the last time anyone used one of those?) icon in the bar above the reply box, you can choose delete drafts. That solves the problem of accidentally quoted copy coming back every time you go back to the thread.

Actually I like some of the old games such as Wing Commander ... so I have a desktop machine that still has 5.25 and 3.5" disc drives ...

I have shoe boxes full of discs from my time in Saudi .... a LOT of boxes !!

Tks for the tip.

If you start a post and think better of it, deleting the text seems to get rid of it. Once you've posted, editing the text seems to be the only option, but making it read "Deleted" seems to work for most of us. If ads are a problem, get an ad blocker. I use Adblock Plus and I never see ads. I also use Ghostery to block trackers. They tell me I've got one ad and two trackers blocker here.

There are sites that won't let me in with an ad blocker. OK, fine, I'll find what I'm looking for somewhere else. Any forum that did that would lose me immediately.
