Haven't yet seen this announcement mentioned on the forum (perhaps I've missed it).

Surprise, surprise, big complicated system with far reaching effects has its introduction delayed.

'The EU has delayed the introduction of a €7 visa-waiver form to enter its passport-free zone, meaning British travellers are unlikely to face the charge until 2024 at the earliest.

The European travel information and authorisation system (Etias), which applies to non-EU citizens from 60 countries that have visa-free travel with the EU, is now scheduled to start operating from November 2023. Travellers will then benefit from a six-month transition period while border authorities run information campaigns on the new requirements.'

They've separated ETIAS and EES rollout - which is sensible. EES still rolling out from later this year. (Which is probably the more problematic one for sailing)

Still no news on the dates for the UK's EES-alike roll out.

ETIAS was announced in 2016, so 8 years to roll out why not bring in a halfway house easy way before ETIAS arrives?

The EU has not realised who their real enemies are, they need to look to the east to the USSR that is being reborn, but without the socialist bit, theftocracy perhaps?

Seems that ETIAS will only be valid for short trips. If you want to stay for more than 90 days they’re saying you have to apply for a Shengen visa and pay even more than €7 :(
