Dehumidifier recommendation please - small and quiet

Meaco DO junior. Excellent, so good it has been annexed for home. Having to get a second for the boat. Quiet, but not silent. Has a good background option. Very good, so far.

Well to reprise this old thread, I hope all these recommendations still hold I've just ordered a DD8L JUNIOR £145, as the boss says the boat is starting to smell damp.

I don't think you will regret it. We are liveaboards in the UK and after this thread we bought the Meaco Junior. Used it all last winter and then put it away over summer. It came out again in October and it's great. Goes on about 4 times a week alternating between cabins whilst ensuring pet cat is not trapped in same space!

even dries all the laundry when on the drying function, for a fraction of the tumble drier cost.

+1 for the DD8L - and most importantly, if there is a power cut for whatever reason, it starts up again with the previous settings unlike many other dehumidifiers.

Another benefit of these desiccant type dehumidifiers is that they tend to work in lower temperatures than the compressor types, and while 'dehumidifying' they also exhaust warm air. The Meaco ones also turn off when the humidity levels reach the required level and only turn on again at 30 minute (I think) intervals to check the humidity levels.
