hello everyone happy Christmas
After 3 years of trying I may be in line for a swinging mooring in Chi. harbour.
Questions.
How do I kepp the chain off the bow, I see many boats with the chain wrapped around the bow chipping the gel coat, cant be good for morale.

How safe in winter as I keep the boat in as long as possible and as this winter has proved you get some good days in when everyone else is out
THANKS
Bruce

If you havent got a bow roller I would strongly suggest you get one and make sure that it is very firmly fixed. The stresses and loads on a swinging mooring are significant.

You could use a chain between 2 forward cleats and shackled in the middle wrapped in flexible tubing

Hi thanks for that , have bow roller etc ,when I see the chains leading down from the roller they seem at slack water etc to lay against the bow ,and slapping the gelcoat, musst chip or mark it
