Yea I do this on Jumunu where its also a lot easier to add way points etc. What you need it the Raymarine Raytech software and the PC kit. All fairly costly when i first bought it (note you need HSB2 through a dedicated type II card and seatalk through a converter)

Look on the Raymarine web site at the Pathfinder PC package.

Hmmm...

I've got the Raytheon 600XX and RL9 radar combination and have been wondering about exactly the same question.

I'm running the Raytech software and donnecting the laptop to a separate GPS as backup at present, but it would be handy not to have to load up the waypoints into both systems!!

I have a RLC 70 radar / chartplotter, laptop, HSB2 connection, seatalk connection and Raytech Navigator 4.1 (I thing you need V4 or above for radar overlay).

HSB2 and seatalk are availible sepratly from the pathfinderkit and connect to the laptop through serial cable and PCMCII card.

Works very well. Happy to get further details to you if you need and can't find it on the raymarine web site. Look at the paper talking about conecting your chartplotter and laptop and doing radar overlay.

Hi Nick & Pam. Now you mention the RL9 I am not sure which mine is I see it most days on board but at home I am not sure. I have plotting software on my latop and connect it to my onboard GPS but what I would like to do is use my laptop as monitor for the radar display I dont trust Laptop software yet as there seem to be so many other things to conflict with the laptop. Where as the dedicated plotter never crashes.
I know there is a printer out from the 600xx so wonder if its possible to run another LCD screen.
Regards Mike.

I'm in a similar situation - the radar/plotter screen is in the cockpit, and I'd like to use the laptop as a display for both at the nav-table, together with being able to load up passage plans in the warm, rather thanon deck!!
Hmmm......going down to the boat this weekend and taking laptop....I'll keep you posted if I have a breakthrough!!

I have the same option
If you are only looking to transfer waypoint plotting point etc you do not need the HSB2 kit
Only NMEA is required
This can be done by connection the Laptop and Chart / Radar Plotter together.
The Chart / Radar Plotter will then act as the Seatalk to NMEA bridge.

Which chart are you all using with Raymarine 4.1?

HI I am not too bothered about creating waypoints etc I find the 600xx plotter great for that, what I realy want is a larger screen and as the RL9 has a LCD screen I thought it might be possible to use the laptop instead.
I am useing the CF cartriges now not up to date but as I have paper charts I dont think that matters.

The PC will not display RADAR or charting video as our Pathfinder HSB2 display does.
There is also no NMEA capability either. The 600XX is NMEA version 1.5 Our Raytech software needs version 2.0 or better the latest is version 2.3. I got this reply from Raymarine.
