AliM (Ali and Gordon) win it with 9 out of 12 which is pretty good.
Sorry to have made it so hard. A bottle of Rum goes to thm when we can meet up.
Answers:
1. The Ware is on the Blackwater. Irving has it as that stretch just above Stangate opposite Osea Island. There is a conflicting view in Wilson's Pilot Book that it is the stretch down from Collier' Point to the North Doubles. Wilson is supported by Alker Tripp. (didn't know this second view existed until an indignant lurker claimed an answer - and by one view was right).
2. Sun Pier, Chatham.
3. Orwell Bridge. There was a natural cut just by it and London Hard was adjacent to the Sewage Works
4. The Medusa Channel. Nelson had the task of planning the defences of the East Coast from attack by Napoleon and needed to get to the Nore - and did it via the Medusa. The Medusa frigate drew 16ft!
5. Quince's corner is in Salcott Creek jst down from TG's mooring.
6. The Knock John swatchway over the Sunk Sand just down from the now missing SW Sunk beacon. Loads of water then and marked by Trinity House.
7. The point opposite the southern end of Osea Island where Lord Stangate (or Tony Benn) has a pad.
8. The Ray Sand
9. Come straight in (if you are daft enough)
10. Felixstowe Dock
11. The Knoll Swatchway
12. Brightlingsea.
Apols for making it so difficult but congrats to Ali and Gordon.
I'll keep quiet now.
