Deck shoes - double knots on the laces?

Quiet Sunday in Lymington....? :D

Might be, but I've taken to tying two double-knots in my trusty Musto deck shoes to stop the slippery laces coming undone.

Now, still on the subject of a quiet Sunday in Lymington, can anyone tell my why one of the aforementioned Musto deck shoes squeaks when I walk, while the other one remains silent?

The other one squeaks too, but at a frequency only available to dogs & foxes.:)

Crocs and boat shoes

I wear my Crocs in the inflatable to get to the boat - they usually get wet getting it in the water and getting in. As soon as I am on the boat the Crocs feel most unsafe, so I change into TBS boat shoes with long leather laces tied with reef bows (doubled). Never had a problem with the laces.

I tie them like this:

not quite a 'double overhand' knot.
