Hi,

Both my Sony XS-MP61 MK2 cockpit speakers cones have failed and they allow water in ... which finds its way into a berth or locker (depending on side). Grh.

So, any recommendations for decent, waterproof, 4ohm 6" speakers. They need to be reasonably low profile as these are in the coamings and are effectively in the seat backing area (ie on the vertical).

Any feedback on these;

Greg...

I have spent every evening for the past week clearing out my garage ... it really needed it... I've a feeling I put a brand new pair of speakers in the skip at the weekend... you should have asked a week ago...

If they sneaked their way back into the clutter still in the garage, I'll let you know but I think they went...

Thanks Martin. Let me know :-)

Not much use to OP but if anyone else is considering fitting cockpit speakers they might consider the speaker drivers that use the GRP as a cone and fit behind the GRP thus no holes. I am not sure what they are called but seem to be quite cheap. ol'will

Fusion every time. No, I don’t sell them! I fitted the smallest I could find in my previous boat (4” if I remember well) due to small surface and the sound despite their size was very good. Bigger Fusion are installed (by the factory) in new boat inside out. The sound is perfect.
